Along with his loose crew of musicians, the Brooklyn Jungle Sound System, Dr. Israel creates a cross-genre hybrid that retains the vital energy of each element. At the same time, hyperkinetic breakbeats glide underneath gospel harmonies and dub rimshots echo around the room. Born Kris Parker he was the leader of Boogie Down Productions, one of the most influential hardcore hip-hop outfits of the '80s. Barrington Levy has been well recognized in reggae circles since his early recordings with Jah Life, Junjo Lawes, and Jah Screw. Always a solid voice and an expressive vocalists, Barrington has been able to stay consistently poised in the dancehall as one of reggae's most requested vocalist. In the late 1980's, Barrington began working with producer Jah Screw, and together they created some of reggae's most memorable recordings. There was the classic album of Barrington's greatest hits dubbed Broader Than Broadway, which is one of the best reggae collections ever created. Come check him out Thursday November 8th!

Jah Warrior was originally founded in 1992, by singer/DJ Rocker-T, in Brooklyn, New York. The sound quickly became well known playing at the infamous Lion?s Den Dance, in New York City, during the mid nineties. In the late 1990?s, the sound system expanded to the Bay Area, first with selector Jah Yzer joining the crew, and DJ?s Ivier and Irie Dole joining shortly thereafter. Jah Warrior Shelter is the Bay Area Sound Clash Champion, winning six Bay Area Clashes: The official VP Records KMEL Sound Clash in San Francisco (1998), The EIWR Clash in San Francisco (2001), The Settlement Clash in Oakland (2002), The Bay Area 45 Clash in Oakland (2002), and the Unity Clash in Berkley (2003/2004).

His new group, CV1, is an all instrumental mash-up of classic Jamaican dub grooves, psychedelic guitar, and beautiful jazz-improv. Clyde’s trumpet and melodica excursions-on-the-version are accompanied by old friends E.
