San Franciscos reggae favorite NATIVE ELEMENTS (now in their 10th year as a cohesive unit) never fail to bring positivity and niceness to all of their music gatherings. As recording artists they spin a curious fabric of luvers rock, roots and conscious dancehall wrapped cozily in a bright frisco-pino treatment. A family before anything else Native Elements strives to make their show a warm and inviting experience for all; young and old, Red Gold and green and everything in between.
Also BINGHI GHOST (Earthday Celebration) Hailing from a little island in the Caribbean called St. Croix, B. ghost was raised with all the ingredients to make him a reggae force to be reckoned with. The culture of the island and the direct linkage to old, west African customs and cultures, has given Mr. Ghost all the tools he needs to go in a straight line with his music, as he likes to say...forward ever, backward never. Plus, he is an individual who truly feels the music and lets it envelop him in its pulsing rhythms and melodies. Last but not least LUV FYAH, will be bring his style of Reggae to the table and parparing a feast for you.

Fri July 21st Dr. Israel
Brooklyn-based singer/producer Dr. Israel isn’t a real MD, but he deserves an honorary degree in alchemy for his crafty synthesis of roots reggae, frenetic jungle rhythms, gritty New York hip-hop, and the occasional rattling metal riff. Along with his loose crew of musicians, the Brooklyn Jungle Sound System, Dr. Israel creates a cross-genre hybrid that retains the vital energy of each element. He rails against Babylon and praises ganja like a committed roots reggae singer while MCs spit out complex wordplay and ghetto realism that’s tough enough for indie-rap heads. At the same time, hyperkinetic breakbeats glide underneath gospel harmonies and dub rimshots echo around the room. It’s a post-rave, indie-hop, dubcore mash-up that would be equally at home at a West Indian street fair and a Noam Chomsky reading group.Dj SMOKE ONE(KING OF KINGS Reggae Sundays @ The Shattuck Downlow) & SELECTA KURIOUS (resident dj for BIGUPRADIO.COM Reality Time) will be giving you the best in Reggae.

At the height of his career, roughly 1987-1990, KRS-One was known for his furiously political and socially conscious raps, which is the source of his nickname, "the Teacha." CV-1 Attention Babylon! SF Bay Area jazz great Clyde “The Slyde” Sutliff (Dogslyde) has returned with a new spin on the classic reggae of old. His new group, CV1, is an all instrumental mash-up of classic Jamaican dub grooves, psychedelic guitar, and beautiful jazz-improv. Clyde’s trumpet and melodica excursions-on-the-version are accompanied by old friends E. Blake Davis (Papa’s Culture, Opal Book Club) on guitar/pedal board, Harley White Jr. (Papa’s Culture, Seventy) on bass, and Eddie “The Assassin” Sassin (Undercover SKA) or Jan Jackson (Pothole, Bitches Brew) on drums/percussion.
