Unkle Fun
Since 1996 Jacque Lacey, A.K.A. Unkle Fun, has prominently been a part of the local Bay Area music scene. By 1998 Unkle Fun had prolifically booked over 200 shows throughout the Bay Area, West Coast, and even to the Rockies. He has provided booking and promotions for countless Bay Area bands, ranging from the local legends Missing Link (Punk/Ska) to Bammie Award Winning Critical Mass (Ska) and Jungle Bisket & Dogslyde (Jazz). In the years since, Unkle Fun has focused his passion and energy within the vibrant Hip Hop and Reggae music scenes. Recent performances have included popular local groups such as Lyrics Born, Chocolate O’Brian, and Rocker-T, as well as international stars such as Barrington Levy, Eek-a-Mouse, and KRS-One.
Possessing a DIY code of ethics, Unkle Fun Presents wears many hats. Unkle Fun personally has demonstrated success in all aspects of his professional performance, from conception of shows to execution of flyer design, publicity, campaigning and promotions. Unkle Fun Presents also lends its hand to graphic design, promotions, booking and stage management for several non-profit and city organizations, including the Laurel District of Oakland and Epic Arts of Berkeley to name a few. He has proudly produced ground breaking and historic concerts in Reggae, Hip Hop and Rock for the entire Bay Area.
Selecta Kurious
More than 15 years of consistent participation in Northern California's reggae scene qualifies Kurious as an old dog among the Bay Area's myriad selectas and sound systems. Top artists like Luciano, Yami Bolo and Warrior King have contributed to his impressive collection of dubplates. This Oakland native has spun at every dancehall venue worth its salt and along side any and all reputable selectas in the area. Reggae heads come from all around to hear his generous mix of bashment, ganjaman and God-bless riddims every time he shows up to the dance.
For the last two years Selecta Kurious has been the host and dj for his very popular Internet radio show Reality Time. Broadcasting every Sunday and internationally reaching tens of thousands of devoted listeners weekly, Selecta Kurious has over 100 show under his belt. He has interviewed and hosted the who’s who of Reggae: Barrington Levy, Eek-A-Mouse, Sugar Minot, Pato Banton, Lucky Dube, Tony Rebel, Jr. Reid and Yami Bolo, just to name a few.
